Portrait Photographer West Sussex | The Societies Competition

Portrait Photographer West Sussex

Every year I make a point of entering the amazing professional imaging competition run by The Societies (SWPP and BPPA). This can be a daunting process at first, but it’s also a fantastic way to push yourself forward. The quest for self-improvement should be part of every professional photographer’s mindset and I have certainly benefited from entering top-flight competitions in the last few years. Due to the size of The Societies competition it’s held as 11 rounds – November’s round saw 1,495 entries from around the globe and I am absolutely thrilled to report that the three images I entered resulted in two Gold Medals and one Highly Commended. My winning images can be seen here on our dedicated pet and animal photography area: Award Winning Animal Photography.

As you can see portraiture need not be restricted to human subjects, the animal world provides the richest source of inspiration I can think of. I have had an awful lot of fun photographing the amazing creatures which populate part of this website.  I’m looking forward to meeting the plenty more furry and feathered subjects next year.

Furry clients side, if you’re contemplating portraits for yourself, a partner, your children, or simply to commemorate a special occasion then please look at our Gallery on the top menu bar. There is plenty of information about our services under the Information tab. We specialise in natural location portraiture, which means we will come to our clients’ homes and favourite places in order to create a range of images which are truly personal and as natural as possible, so that our subjects’ personalities can shine through. We will produce a wide range of colour and black-and-white photographs, enough to populate one of our beautiful handmade albums should you fancy one, otherwise we have a range of both modern and classical wall presentation options. Simply pick up the phone for an informal chat about your photography.

Congratulatons on your Gold Medals and Highly Commended, Lindsay.

    Certainly well, well deserved.

PS I must look into joining some of the societies….

Thank you Stephen. As for the various societies, as you can imagine all are different with a very different flavour and ethos. Some better represent certain forms of photography than others.

Lindsay, Well done. Many congratulations on this latest set of awards. The images are fantastic. The recognition is hugely deserved. All the best, John.

Thank you for the kind words John – and may I say I have watched your own work come on in leaps and bounds in the last couple of years!
